Fun Fundraising Ideas

Pink Footy & Netball Day is as much about raising awareness, as it is fundraising for BCNA. We love seeing our Pink Lady symbol in communities all across Australia!

Since its beginning in 2009, Pink Footy & Netball Day has raised over $370,000 to support Australians affected by breast cancer. If you would like to fundraise as part of your event, we have provided some suggestions below.

Here are some ideas that successful clubs have used to raise funds.

On the day:

  • Provide face painting for children and encourage parents to make a gold coin donation
  • Competitions - e.g. guess how many lollies in the jar
  • Serve pink drinks or slurpees for a gold coin donation
  • Hair Colour (pink of course) - charge for the treatment
  • Sell chocolates in a chocolate drive
  • Charge a fee for giving your spectators or players a massage
  • Hold a special 'pink' morning or afternoon tea on match day and ask for gold coin donations
  • Encourage supporters and sports fans to donate upon entry to the match
  • Sausage Sizzle - don't forget to talk to your local Bakers Delight for help with bread - to find your local Bakers Delight, click here
  • Raffles - local businesses and restaurants can be a great source of raffle prize donations.

After the match:
  • Auction your pink footy or netball
  • Bingo Night - organise a club competition and people pay to participate
  • Casino/Card Night - organise a club competition and people pay to participate
  • Club trivia night (perhaps have a pink section where all the answers are to do with pink) and sell tickets to the event.

Other 'pink' activities:
  • Include a known breast cancer survivor as a special part of your day
  • Ask the umpires for your game to wear a touch of pink
  • Arrange a prize for the most creative pink outfit on the day
  • Run pink relay dashes at half time during the matches on the ground for the kids.
  • Offer a prize for the funniest pink themed team game day crepe paper banner on the day
  • Write messages of support on the pink lady cutouts and put them around the clubrooms
  • Offer a special pink prize for "Best On Ground".

Still unsure? Need to run through an idea? We have a great team of staff available at BCNA to discuss with you your fundraising ideas.
Feel free to email or call 1800 500 258 (freecall) if you have any questions.

Remember, the most important thing when fundraising is to HAVE FUN!
